SMA Tech opens new production hall in Rinteln - investment in the future of the region
With a ceremonial opening, the Scheidt-subsidiary SMA Tech inaugurated its new plant in the Rinteln-Süd industrial estate in August 2025. Around eight million euros were invested in the new building - a clear commitment to the Rinteln site and the Schaumburg region. The new building comprises around 4,750 m² of production and logistics space as well as an office and social building. This will create a total of 40 new Workplaces in the areas of production, logistics, technology and administration.
The Scheidt family at the heart of the company
The Scheidt company, founded in 1889, has been family-run for generations. This tradition not only characterises the company's development, but also its culture - a fact that was particularly evident at the opening ceremony in Rinteln. The celebration was deliberately organised as a large family festival and included numerous attractions for children and families.
Personal contact, clear communication and an open dialogue are particularly important to the Group. Even in the event of differences of opinion - mentioned with a twinkle in the eye - unity counts in the end, just like in a family.
An unusual start: theatre play instead of speeches
Managing Director Georgine Scheidt began by welcoming the guests - family, employees and representatives from business and administration. Instead of traditional speeches, the company's history was vividly presented in the form of a theatre play. The managers themselves performed and combined humorous anecdotes with a wink: "We are hereby officially applying for the Golden Raspberry."
Guests of honour honour the investment
Among the guests were Mayor Andrea Lange and District Administrator Jörg Farr, who emphasised the importance of this investment for the region: More jobs, a strengthened business location and a clear commitment to the Schaumburg region.
The event was complemented by photos and films that impressively showed the transformation of the company - from an economically strained starting position to a modern, innovative company characterised by cooperation and commitment.
The presentation of a video by authorised signatory Dirk Brenneke was a wonderful moment: from a bird's eye view, the employees formed the big word "THANK YOU" - an expression of genuine appreciation.
Art and technology combined
Another highlight was the unveiling of an aluminium sculpture. Michael and Marion Scheidt, together with Managing Director Dragan Bracht, presented a balancing cube made of doors from SMA production - mounted on a plinth by the manufacturer Scheidt itself.
The sculpture symbolises fundamental corporate values:
Sustainability (rethinking the existing),
Technique (precision and balance) and
Courage (daring to do new things and change perspectives). A symbol of innovation - courageously balanced into the future.

Celebrate together
The official part was followed by a large group photo of the employees in front of the new hall - many in green polo shirts with the SMA Tech and Scheidt logos. The picture symbolised cohesion and identification.
This was followed by a big summer party: A bouncy castle, balloon artists, face painting, the Flying Band, a large selection of food and drinks and a DJ kept the party going well into the evening.

Products with a future - a brief overview
SMA Tech manufactures high-quality aluminium doors and ventilation grilles, primarily for transformer stations and technical buildings. Using their own extruded aluminium profiles, they can offer customised solutions that are lightweight, corrosion-resistant and efficient. Around 4,000 products leave the factory every year.
Production is also characterised by a high level of sustainability and safety - aluminium is almost completely recyclable and many parts meet the requirements of DIN EN 62271-202.
Conclusion: With the new building, SMA Tech is investing in people, the future and technology. The Rinteln site is gaining new perspectives - supported by tradition, innovative strength and a strong team.
